You can learn the skills to offer play therapy to your kids.

Through making a good faith effort to fully participate in this 5 week workshop, you and your spouse will learn the 3 core skills that transform your kid's play into therapeutic play through the ritual of "Special Play Time".

The skills you will learn help you help your kids use their play to work through their problems.

  • Not only will your kids gain competency in solving their own problems, but the ritual of special play time also strengthens their secure attachment to you.
  • What you'll learn is built on a foundation of extensive research (google filial therapy).
  • Because this model is process oriented not problem focused, what you learn now will apply to what your kids face in the future.

With practice, parents find the ritual of special play time really enjoyable and the goodness of therapeutic play ripples through their family life with greater peacefulness.

Here are the skills you'll learn:

  1. Structure to Tag Along.
  2. 1st Respond with Empathy.
  3. Set Limits and Let Them Decide.

I'm not just a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist focused on resilience in ministry, but I'm also a dad and I've witnessed how...

this investment continues to bear fruit in my family.

What You Can Expect:

  • Ideal for kids 3 to 10; you can adapt the structure to be age appropriate for younger and older kids and proficiency in the core skills makes everyday parenting easier for everyone.
  • This workshop is interactive, so both parents should attend since you'll learn by practicing together.
  • To master these skills, expect to spend 2 additional hours outside of class (only 20 minutes will be practicing the ritual of special play time and the rest in review, reading the handbook, and other resources).

With the proficiency you'll gain, expect to help most kids play through most problems in about 10 weeks.
